How Dr. Mullen practices medicine

Before medicine, Dr. Mullen played on the USF volleyball team from 2013 to 2015 and kept statistics for the university’s women’s volleyball team. He still reads a member’s health the way an analyst reads a data set: measure first, then decide what to change.

His plans are built on five pillars:

  • Nutrition, set from body composition and metabolic labs
  • Movement, matched to your training history and fitness testing
  • Sleep, treated as a clinical priority with its own targets
  • Stress, reviewed alongside the physical markers it affects
  • Recovery, so training and work loads stay sustainable

Those pillars run through the Precision Health Method:

Measure. Analyze. Optimize. Adapt.

  • Measure: testing begins at your first appointment, including advanced labs such as ApoB and Lp(a), DEXA body composition, and CCTA when your history warrants it.
  • Analyze: Dr. Mullen reviews every result against your personal and family history.
  • Optimize: within your first month, your results become the Precision Blueprint, a written, physician-directed plan, along with your Precision Score™.
  • Adapt: your markers are re-measured every six months, and your plan changes when your numbers do.

Obesity medicine

As an obesity medicine physician, Dr. Mullen treats excess weight as a medical condition with measurable drivers. He works from body composition and metabolic testing, and uses prescription medication where it is clinically appropriate, alongside nutrition and exercise.
